We are bringing a group of 8 to WDW in November and see there are renovations happening at Saratoga Springs and one pool is closed during this time? Is there a better option for our group to stay on property? Is the rate discounted due to fewer amenities?

Hiya Emily! Welcome to planDisney, and thank you for sending in your question. I'd love to help you with your Saratoga Springs plans. Your trip is coming up soon... woo hoo!

As you likely saw mentioned on the Disney World website, The Paddock Pool and its aquatic play area at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort will be closed from October 13 through early December for routine maintenance. I know it can be disappointing to have a "pardon our pixie dust" renovation taking place at your Disney Resort, at the same time as your magical vacation. However, this is part of why everything at Walt Disney World Resort is always in such top notch condition! I assure you that Disney does it's best to keep the disruption as minimal as possible.

During the time of The Paddock Pool closure, Guests are welcome to visit the High Rock Spring Pool and the leisure pools located at the Treehouse Villas, Congress Park and The Grandstand. Complimentary transportation will be provided for Guests to access the available pool locations during the maintenance period. The Paddock Grill will also be closed during the maintenance period. For alternative quick-service food and beverage options, Guests are encouraged to visit The Artist's Palette, Backstretch Pool Bar and Chip 'n Dale's Café.

For years I had been curious about Saratoga Springs Resort, but was a little concerned about the sprawling size of this property. My concerns proved unfounded, and my family absolutely loved our stay at this scenic, relaxing resort! It's absolutely gorgeous. We spent a full pool day at the High Rock Spring Pool and thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance, On the Rocks poolside bar, soothing sound of waterfalls, Cast Member led games for the kids, and having The Artist's Palette mere steps away when we were ready to eat lunch. All that to say... even if you miss out on the Paddock Pool, I think you are going to love this resort! Did you know there's even a walking trail from Saratoga Springs Resort to Downtown Disney? And be sure to check out the Activities Schedule to find out all the fun extras taking place at your resort.

As far as a different Disney Resort option for your party, remaining availability for your dates is a bit slim. I'm not seeing any larger villas available that can sleep 8. If you are reserving two rooms, there are still a few resorts with options, along with a "Save up to 20% on Rooms This Holiday Season" Special Offer worth checking out. I recommend using the Build Your Vacation search tool on the Disney World site to see if any of the available resorts appeal to you?

Aaaaah... but Saratoga Springs still gets my vote! I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Emily, I hope this helps and that you have an incredible time at Walt Disney World! Please visit me any time at planDisney with your questions.

    Magical memories await,
    Tami
