I am bringing the family (1 & 3 yo boys) for a business trip in Orlando & fitting in Disney in early May. We are staying outside of Disney. Where would you recommend we should eat? With the short notice it seems there aren't many reservations left.

    Hi Caryl!

Even if you are not staying at a Walt Disney World resort, you can still eat at any of the Walt Disney World resorts, parks and Downtown Disney! There are so many wonderful choices to choose from, I'll give you my favorites from each category.

    Character Dining
You should definitely try to do at least one character dining experience while you visit. Chef Mickey's at The Contemporary Resort is a wonderful choice. Your boys can meet Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto.

    Fun Atmosphere
At Downtown Disney, the T-Rex Cafe is filled with dinosaurs that actually move, make sounds and "live" in their natural habitat. Try the Chocolate Extinction, it's out-of-this-world!

    Parents Night Out
For fine dining, try Narcoossee's at Grand Floridian Resort. You can enjoy seafood or steak in a coastal themed atmosphere. The steamed whole Main lobster is great! You can enjoy enjoy views of the Wishes fireworks show from the verandah while you are eating.

Call 407-WDW-DINE to make an Advanced Dining Reservation (ADR.) While it may be difficult to score a reservation, keep trying because many times people cancel their reservations as their trip nears because they overbook to have several options.

If you can't obtain an ADR, eat at one of the WDW Quick-Service locations, which don't require an ADR. A few choices include: Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney, Pizza Planet at Disney's Hollywood Studios and Main Street Bakery at Magic Kingdom. They all have delicious food and you don't have to worry about making an ADR.

I hope you have a magical vacation!

    Magically,
    Stacy
