    DH and I bringing DD,her DH, and 4 grandkids, ages 2-9. Which dates are better for weather, crowds? Sept25-Oct 5, Oct 2-Oct12, or Oct 16-Oct 26 (our first choice). Hoping for free DP, will wait to book until offers come out. Thanks for your help!

    Janet,

    All three weeks rank at the top of my favorite times to go in the year. Here are a few notes;

    • While September marks the end of the rainy season in Orlando, that last week is well outside of it. So no week of the three can be favored when considering rain.
    • The weather gets progressively cooler in these weeks, as you might imagine. But even at the coldest of these we are still talking highs in the mid 80s and lows in the high 60s. So again, not a lot of difference between the three, though clearly warmer the earlier you go.
    • Crowds get larger from week to week, though all three sets of dates enjoy light to moderate crowds.
    • The only crowd concerns I have during this time is that first weekend of October which usually marks the start of the Food & Wine Festival. While I love the event, that first weekend crowd is pretty rough.
    So all three time frames would be fine, clearly. My wife would opt for the week you prefer. I would go for the first, but only because I like it when it is hot at Walt Disney World. Or comparatively so to what it is back home in Indiana.

    BOTTOM LINE: Stick to your first choice. It is what you want, and switching to either of the two options would not get you any notable improvement in weather or crowd levels.

    Now surely you have some more questions for me, right? Send them along!

    Have a magical vacation!
