can you bring snacks from home for the hotel room, i have a 5 yr old grand daughter

Hi, Larry!  You can absolutely bring snacks to keep in your hotel room while you are visiting Walt Disney World resorts.  My husband sometimes thinks I pack more snacks than clothes for our vacations!

Depending on where you are staying, you may even have a small refrigerator in your room, so you can even keep things like yogurt and cheese.  For my five year old, I usually have fruit snacks (especially the ones shaped like Phineas and Ferb); granola bars; and raisins.  I tend to pack snacks that I can also throw in my backpack and take to the theme parks with me.  It helps pass the time if the lines are long if the girls have a bit of a snack.

If you are staying at a value resort, where there isn't a refrigerator, you can rent one during your stay.  What I usually do to save some money is purchase an inexpensive styrofoam cooler, poke four or six holes in the bottom, and fill the cooler with ice and the snacks I want to keep cold.  The holes allow the water to drain out of the cooler (which I sit in the bathtub), and my items stay cold until I need them without getting soggy!

It's also nice to have some snacks on hand with little ones in case you come back to your room earlier in the evening.  I always give the girls a bedtime snack and some TV time before turning in for the night.

    Have a great vacation!
