Hello there, Linda! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We appreciate you reaching out and allowing us to help you plan your Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
The Walt Disney Company as a whole is committed to decreasing its environmental footprint and conversing resources in as many ways as possible. In 2017, they reduced their net greenhouse emissions by 41 percent and managed to divert over 50 percent of waste from landfills and incineration. This dedication to environmentalism has continued as The Walt Disney Company vowed to reduce their single-use plastics in all owned and operated parks and cruise lines.
The Walt Disney Company plans on eliminating more than 175 million single-use straws as a part of their conservation goals as well. This dedication to helping the environment is a truly inspiring and worthy cause!
Due to this removal of single-use plastics within the parks, it is actually recommended that Guests assist The Walt Disney Company by bringing their own reusable straws within them during their visits! Reusable stainless steel straws do not currently fall into the
restricted personal items list for Walt Disney World Resort parks so it should be perfectly fine for you to bring them with you during your vacation. If you're concerned about your reusable stainless steel straws being flagged as you go through the metal detectors, be sure to notify
Disney Park Security of their presence whenever you arrive. This should help reduce your anxiety and streamline the entire process!
Thank you for helping us reduce single-use plastics at Walt Disney World Resort! Please let us know if we can help you with anything else!
