Can I bring a portable charger/power bank on the Disney Destiny to recharge my devices? If so, are there any restrictions?

Ahoy, Anthony, and welcome to planDisney! The Disney Destiny is such an amazing ship, with incredible themed dining, breathtaking entertainment, fun interactions with Disney Characters, and unique lounges. You'll have such a wonderful time! Let's make sure your devices stay charged between all the excitement.

We can start with portable chargers – these are not currently on the list of prohibited items, and I know many others who have brought them on past Disney Cruise Line sailings without issue. I suggest keeping any portable chargers in your carry-on bags. Also, simple is best. If your power bank has features that could classify it as a prohibited item, it may not be allowed on board. Extension cords, power strips, multi-plugs, and surge protectors, for example, may not be brought on board Disney Cruise ships. Any item deemed to be a safety risk may be confiscated for the duration of the sailing. You can view a complete list of prohibited and restricted items on the Disney Cruise Line website.

I saw that you also asked about how to keep your devices powered up in your stateroom. I'm happy to report that Disney Destiny staterooms have USB and USB-C ports, as well as standard wall plugs. While the exact number and location may vary by stateroom, I've counted two USB-C ports and two outlets in the desk area, as well as three USB-C ports, one USB port, and two wall outlets next to the bed. There are a few international plugs, too. All this to say, you shouldn't have any trouble keeping your devices powered up.

The staterooms will "recharge" you, too! Cotton linens, a high-definition television, signature bath products, and more will be waiting for you each time you return. I love that you are looking to get a Verandah Stateroom. You'll be able to take in the fresh ocean air and expansive views as you sit back and relax!

Make sure you have the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app downloaded to your device. It will be a really helpful tool while on board the ship. Use it to see when and where activities will take place, check your rotational dining details, learn where to meet Characters, and more.

Anthony, I hope this information is helpful as you continue to build your packing list. If you think of any other questions, please reach out – we're always happy to help here at planDisney!

    Smooth sailing ahead,
