Can I bring a 4 pack of 7 oz bottles of wine in my carry-on for a cruise rather than full sized wine bottles or a 6 pack of beer?

    Ahoy there, James!

It sounds like you have an amazing Disney Cruise Line adventure ahead! And I completely understand wanting to bring along your favorite drinks to enjoy while soaking in those ocean views. Nothing beats winding down with a glass of wine after a fun-filled day at sea!

Disney Cruise Line does allow guests 21 and older to bring alcohol on board, but there are some specific guidelines to keep in mind. Each guest may bring either two unopened bottles of wine or champagne (750 ml max per bottle) or up to six unopened beers (12 oz max each). Unfortunately, that means a 4-pack of smaller wine bottles wouldn’t be allowed if it exceeds the two-bottle limit, since Disney counts bottles, not ounces!

Your wine or beer must be packed in your carry-on luggage (not checked bags), and everything needs to be in its original, unopened packaging. If you’re bringing wine, you can request glasses and a corkscrew through room service. Here's a planDisney tip: enjoy a glass of wine in your stateroom before heading to dinner to avoid corkage fees in the dining room!

And speaking of enjoying a drink in your stateroom, here’s one of my favorite onboard treats: order the “All Hands on Deck” cheese plate from room service to pair with your wine. It comes with a selection of cheeses and crackers and makes for the perfect pre-dinner snack. And since most room service items are included in your cruise fare, all you need to do is tip the crew member who delivers it!

If you’d rather skip packing your own drinks, Disney Cruise Line offers wine packages at a discount compared to ordering bottles à la carte. When you arrive at dinner on the first evening, you’ll find a brochure on your table that explains the options. And for beer lovers, the beer mug package gets you a souvenir glass and a 21 oz pour for the price of 16 oz, which is a great deal if you plan to enjoy a few brews on board. I also recommend looking into a Beverage Tasting. My husband and I attended a wine tasting on one of our cruises, and it was tasty and informative!

No matter what you choose, I hope you get to raise a glass and toast to an unforgettable cruise, James! Wishing you smooth seas, magical memories, and maybe even a Mickey ice cream bar or two along the way.

    Cheers!
