Ahoy there, Matt!
Thanks for cruising by with your question!
It sounds like you are not only a
Disney Cruise Line fan, but also you may have sailed beyond the reef and around
Walt Disney World Resort before. You can leave those MagicBands at home though, Matt, as they won’t be needed aboard a Disney Cruise Line ship.
Once onboard, your Key to the World card works much like you are used to a MagicBand working. The card will open your stateroom door and allow you to make purchases of souvenirs and any items that may not be
included in your cruise. During the
online check-in process, you will be able to provide a
method of payment to link to your card for all purchases. Your Key to the World card will be waiting for you at your stateroom once it is ready and you will soon be sailing off to great adventures.
Matt, if you have children between the ages of 3 and 12 sailing with you who plan to participate in
Disney Oceaneer Club or
Disney’s Oceaneer Lab, they will receive Disney Cruise Line Youth Activities wristband, which grants them access to both the Oceaneer Club and the Oceaneer Lab. These bands will be provided when you check in at the port and you can return them on the final night of your cruise or pay a small fee to keep them as a souvenir as a reminder of their sail across the sea.
And Matt, remember to download the latest version of the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app to your mobile device. It is the best wayfinder for your voyage!
I’m glad you stopped by with your question, Matt. You’re welcome to stop by again any time as you prepare for seeing where the sky meets the sea on your next Disney cruise!
Wishing you a magical cruise,
Shannon
