Hiya, Leisa, and welcome to planDisney, pal! You and I have a lot in common. I'm also a Florida resident who enjoys a good Mickey Waffle! Why do foods taste better when they're shaped like everyone's favorite mouse? It's one of life's great mysteries! Now, let's see what you'll be allowed to bring along with you on your upcoming
Walt Disney World Resort visit.
I spoke to a friendly cast member and several of my planDisney pals, and the consensus is that small appliances are prohibited at most
Disney Resort Hotels. Coffee makers are the only exception, but nearly all Disney Resort Hotel rooms have coffee makers now. I stayed at Disney's Pop Century Resort last week, where delicious Joffrey's coffee packs and creamers are provided. Gotta start the day with a cuppa, right? Unfortunately, most waffle irons, hot plates, microwaves, and the like are considered hazards according to the Florida fire code, Leisa. But never fear! I have some suggestions for you.
I checked the menu at
Landscape of Flavors at
Disney's Art of Animation Resort, and there are Character Waffles listed, as well as Plant-Based Mickey-Shaped Waffles. So you'll be a quick stroll away from your favorite breakfast every morning. And here's a tip: Use
Mobile Ordering to place your order before you head out for the day. And then stop by the restaurant to pick up your meal on your way to the theme parks.
Speaking of food, your visit falls during the
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. Although plans are still being announced, you can rest assured that you'll have delectable items to try at the
Global Marketplaces around the World Showcase. I always try to sample as many items as my stomach allows!
Leisa, I hope I've given you some ideas to make your syrup-sweet dreams come true on your upcoming visit. Please
stop by planDisney anytime! You can try my personal favorite, peanut butter on waffles!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
