Welcome aboard, Ali! You must have a magical Disney cruise coming up!
Disney Cruise Line does allow Coast Guard Approved personal floatation devices, water wings and swimsuits with built-in floatation on the ship, yes, however floats and rafts or noodles are not allowed. If your little one is used to swimming with a life jacket, you should absolutely bring it so that he can enjoy the pools onboard!
Mickey's pool is pretty shallow and you may find that he doesn't need to wear it while he wades around in that pool, however many little ones do still wear their water wings or vest there. Donald's pool on the Dream and Fantasy, or Goofy's pool on the Magic and Wonder are deeper and your son will certainly be happy to have his floatation device as he swims with you in that pool.
Depending on what ship you're on, your son will also be able to splash around in one of a few water play areas. The Dream and Fantasy both feature
Nemo's Reef, a splash zone for little ones, and the Fantasy has the all-new
AquaLab where kids have lots of wet and wild fun. The Wonder and Magic both have a small splash area near Mickey's pool as well. After October of this year, guests on the
newly re-imagined Magic will also get to enjoy an AquaLab! The new designs are pretty exciting!
I hope that helps as you continue to plan your cruise, Ali. I'm always happy to help, so please don't hesitate to stop back with any other questions you might have before you set sail!
