I chatted with a 10-gallon-hat-wearing Cast Member named Atlanta, who reached out to Fort Wilderness directly. Unfortunately, Atlanta found out that hammocks aren't typically allowed near campsites or cabins, mainly because guests are prohibited from attaching most items to trees or shrubs.
Since I don't know the exact type of hammock you have, you can call the
Tickets and Hotel Reservations line for more information. If your portable, swinging sofa is freestanding, for example, that might be allowed.
I also recommend reviewing the rules for
"Decorating Your Campsite or Cabin" for details like keeping walkways clear. I love how Disney Parks
put safety above all else, both for guests and the environment!
My husband and I stayed in The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort last year, and our favorite activity was cruising "The Fort" on a golf cart. Not only could we park our battery-powered steed at the marina for
boat service to Magic Kingdom Park, but we also enjoyed seeing the natural beauty of this resort from our open-air vehicle. It might not be as relaxing as a hammock, but riding our cart was a peaceful way to unwind. You can
rent carts in advance or near the Reception Outpost, so hold on tight and get ready for some fun!
