Hello Billiejean!
How exciting that you are bringing your grandson for your first trip to the most magical place on earth!
I have a few tips that will help you get your planning underway!
First, you will want to choose your
Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. There are three categories of resorts:
value,
moderate, and
deluxe. I have favorites in every category! If you are looking for a fun resort that offers incredible value for the money, consider
Disney's All-Star Movies Resort. I love everything about this resort, from the theme to the pool to the food options.
Once you choose your resort, you will want to decide what type of tickets to purchase, how many days you want to stay, and when you want to visit. I highly recommend making sure that the theme park you want to visit is available on your desired date. You can do this by reviewing the
Theme Park Reservations page and clicking on
Theme Park Reservation Availability. When reviewing the calendar, note:
*Green = All parks are available
*Yellow = Some parks are available (you can see the specific parks that are available below the calendar)
*Gray = No availability
You will want to validate that the park you want to visit is available prior to purchasing.
Now that you have your resort hotel and tickets selected, you can check out online and make your deposit. If you prefer to do this over the phone, call (407) 939-5277 to speak with a Cast Member.
You can also begin thinking ahead to what
dining reservations you want to make. I highly recommend
Chef Mickey's if you would like for your grandson to experience dining with the characters! You can begin making your dining reservations 60 days in advance online or by calling 407-WDW-DINE.
And don't forget to ask for a complimentary celebration button when you arrive at your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. You and your grandson can both get one to indicate that you are celebrating your first trip to Walt Disney World!
I hope you have a magical vacation!
Magically,
Stacy
