Welcome to planDisney, Amy! I am so glad you found us to ask your question!
I visited the Walt Disney World Resort for the July 4 holiday, and it was HOT! I definitely needed to make sure that I stayed hydrated.
When I travel, I like to bring my metal water bottle or tumbler. I like that the metal inside will keep the ice frozen for a long time. When going through airport security, the bottle or tumbler needs to be empty, and then once I am through security, I find somewhere to fill up the bottle so I have water on my flight.
I will admit, I had no idea what an “Ember” was, so I looked it up online. So, I see that it is a super-fancy travel mug that you can control with your smartphone. This seems like a pretty awesome thing! You CAN absolutely bring this mug into the park. With the new security screening, they are having everyone walk through with your bag or backpack still on your body, and anything made of metal you need to carry at an arm’s length in front of you. In my case, that means my umbrella (for shade AND rain), my water cup/bottle, AND my sunglasses case!
I use my cup to keep things cold, I see that an Ember can keep your beverage cold or hot. I would recommend having a large enough backpack to put your cup inside, especially when riding attractions. Hopefully, it has a lid that seals!
I keep my metal water bottle full of cold water. Once inside the parks, if I found myself running low on water, I would simply ask for a cup of ice and a cup of ice water when we were picking up our mobile-ordered snack or meal. If you haven’t seen the
mobile ordering for food on the
MyDisneyExperience app, your mind will be blown! You can even order your food hours in advance by choosing an arrival window in the future! I even had a friend place an order while she was in the car, riding to Magic Kingdom.
There are also a few water bottle filling stations inside the theme parks, and I feel like I discover a new one on each trip! So far, I can verify that there is one as you are leaving the Flight of Passage attraction in Animal Kingdom, and as you are exiting Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I will be on the search for more on my next trip.
I hope this helps to plan for your next visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!
Happy Traveling,
Tracy
