Bow Wow, Sophie!
As a fellow dog mama, thanks for bringing such a great question to the Panel! Our pup, Hamish (named after one of Merida's triplet brothers), recently finished service dog training. We have talked a lot about how wonderful it will be to take Hamish with us on our Disney vacations now that he is
a service dog. I love that you are resEARching before your trip to make sure
your pup has as fantastic of a journey as you!
Walt Disney World Resort currently has
four dog-friendly properties. They are:
Disney's Art of Animation ResortDisney's Port Orleans Resort - RiversideDisney's Yacht Club ResortCabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness ResortAs you can see, you have a variety of options to fit any preference or budget. One of my fellow moms spent Thanksgiving weekend with her family (including pup!) at the
Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and raved about how great the accommodations were for dogs and people! Disney's Art of Animation Resort is nirvana for kiddos, and I love Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside mainly because of its proximity to my favorite Disney dessert -
beignets!
Once you choose your Resort, make sure to call and let them know your
four-legged family member will be joining you on vacation. That way, they can make sure to welcome your pup with Pluto's Welcome Kit, which includes puppy mats, dog walking maps, a pet ID tag, and more! If your dog is not a service animal (and therefore able to join you in the Parks),
Best Friends Pet Care is a fantastic pet resort where your dog will have an adventure while you enjoy your thrills at the Parks!
Sophie, I wish you a pawsome vacation!
