I want to bring my camera and other essential items into the parks but I also want to be able to carry it and go on all the rides. Are there restrictions to bringing backpacks on rides? How do they stay dry on water rides? What items are "essential

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Maria! We're glad you're here! I completely understand wanting to bring your backpack into the park with all of your essential items. I am happy to report that backpacks are allowed on all attractions. My husband always brings a backpack for our family and he carries it onto all of the attractions with him.  Kali River Rapids at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park is the one attraction that you are most likely to get "soaked" on so they do provide a "storage area" with a plastic covering in the center of the raft.  WIth that being said, I have seen a little water in this storage area before. I would recommend bringing either a ziploc bag to store any loose items that do not need to get wet inside your backpack or possibly bringing a trash bag to place your entire backpack in before putting it in the storage compartment. Many guests wear ponchos on this attraction to stay dry. On Splash Mountain at Magic Kingdom Park, we simply secure our backpack beside our legs or on our laps and have never had any issues with it getting too wet  Our "park essentials" traditionally include a camera, sunglasses, sunscreen, autograph books and pens, hand sanitizer, snacks and any necessary medications. I hope this information helps! Please don't hesitate to write me back with any additional questions. Best wishes for a magical trip, Maria!
