Welcome back to planDisney, Eliazar! How exciting that you’re attending Oogie Boogie Bash this year. I have my tickets too, and I can’t wait for all the spooky fun to begin!
That’s a great question. I know how important those final costume details can be when putting together your perfect Halloween look, and it makes sense to want everything to align with the guidelines. As you mentioned, the
Disneyland Resort dress code does apply to all Special Events, including Oogie Boogie Bash. Guests aged 14 and older may not wear masks, although headwear is permitted as long as it doesn’t obscure the face. I’d hate for you to bring something special only to be turned away, so here’s an important tip: the final decision is always up to the Security Cast Members at the entrance. While they aim to keep things fun and magical, they may ask you to return certain items, like half-masks or full face coverings, to your vehicle or hotel. My
fellow panelist Al had this experience with a Venetian-style mask, so I hope knowing this ahead of time helps you plan accordingly and focus on the fun!
Now, let’s talk about what’s brewing in the cauldron for this year’s
Bash! Two new villains will be joining the treat trails this Halloween season, and while Disney hasn’t officially revealed who they are, one is rumored to be a certain Incredible foe on Pixar Pier. Over in Grizzly Peak, another iconic villain with her crow familiar might be making a sinister return. Of course, Villains Grove is also back! It’s one of my favorite parts of the evening. Redwood Creek Challenge Trail becomes a hauntingly beautiful realm filled with fog, flickering projections, moody lighting, and soundscapes that immerse you in a villainous dreamscape. I recommend visiting during the first parade, when lines are often shorter.
Here’s a Q-Tip, Eliazar: the Frightfully Fun Parade typically runs twice during the event, and the second showing is often less crowded. Two of my favorite viewing spots are in front of The Little Mermaid – Ariel’s Undersea Adventure and across from Carthay Circle Theater. They both offer fantastic photo ops!
If you have any more questions, Eliazar, please visit us again at planDisney. We’re always happy to help scare up a little magic.
Enjoy your visit,
David
