Hi Bret, Thank you for passing my ? to Erin re Tusker House for Bkft. OK, so we have ADR for Bkft @ 8:10., staying @ Poly; what is the fastest, easiest way to get to AK (Taxi/Bus) & what time should we leave resort? Welcome back to the Panel!

Lynn,  Happy to help and thanks for writing back!  I think all of the panelist appreciate the personal questions once in a while!  I know I do!

Unless a bus happens to be waiting when you get to the bus stop, taxis or rental cars are almost always the fastest way to go (Important exception: Use the bus to go to the Magic Kingdom, as it skips the Ticket and Transportation Center, and drops you off near the park entrance).

If I didn't have a rental car, I would try the bus and use the taxi as a back-up.  I would go to the Poly bus stop no later than 7:00.  If a bus hasn't appeared by 7:15, then I'd take a taxi.  If you don't mind cutting it close, you can probably add 15 minutes to these times.  Keep in mind you'll need about 15 minutes from arrival at the park to arrival at Tusker House (for security review, park entrance, and walking to the restaurant).

Taxis are usually easy to find at the resort entrance (and park entrances).  If you don't see one, ask bell services (or any nearby cast member) to help you find or call for a taxi.  Shouldn't cost more than approx. $20.

FYI, according to the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World, the transportation times from the Poly to Animal Kingdom park are ~13 minutes by car/taxi, and 32 (average) to 46 (worst case) minutes by bus.

Lastly, if you have other questions about best transportation options at Disney, I highly recommend the "Transportation Wizard" at www.ourlaughingplace.com (they also have an iPhone ap!).
