Bret, looking at Google Earth, it looks like ASMovies only has 1 pool. Are the pictures old or are they renovating the main pool? Our trip is in Sept and last year our daughter swam every night. May need to change reservation. Love your answers!!! Thanx

    Jenni,

All-Star Movies (AS-Movies) definitely has two pools, the Duck Pond pool (in the Mighty Ducks area) and the main pool area which has the Fantasia Pool and Kiddie Pool (between the main lobby, which is called the Cinema Hall, and the Fantasia buildings).  No need to change reservations. ;-)

To better understand your question, I looked at the Google Earth 3D map of AS-Movies, and it looks like they took the photo of the area during construction, or more likely a rehab.  Many of the geographic satellite photos on Google Earth are still several years old, and this is another example of that.

One other issue I noticed when looking for AS-Movies is that Google Earth has many different (and many incorrect) points/markers for AS-Movies.  To make sure you are looking at the correct images at WDW, I'd recommend you only use the Disney reference points (i.e., the purple Mouse Ears) to find resorts, not the other Google markers.  At the risk of putting you to sleep, ;-), the correct coordinates for AS-Movies are 28º20'07.77 N and 81º34'18.66 W.

FYI, recently all of the "Moms" got a chance to discuss Google Earth 3D with one of the creators.  It was interesting to find out that there had been early discussions about trying to hide the "backstage" areas and/or old photo images.  The conclusion, however, was that Google Earth should show a true depiction of all parts of the Earth, even at WDW.  Something to keep in mind, if you don't want to (or your children don't want to) see some of the less magical "backstage" areas of WDW.  This also explains why Disney can't really "fix" some of the older geographic images.  Nevertheless, the Disney 3D layer in the program is up to date.  ºoº
