Glad you read
my prior Q&A about Disney's new Google 3D WDW maps.
Once you see the yellow Mickey Mouse, simply click it and then click the "Show Disney World in 3D" button at the top of the menu box that appears. Once you've done that you should be ready for WDW in 3D!
To fully experience the 3D, you'll need to use Google Earth's navigation tools on the top right of the screen (move your cursor over them):
- Top circle (looks like a compass): Turns you around as you press the edges of the circle
- Middle circle (with a hand in the middle): Moves you right, left, up and down, as you press the edge of the circle
- Bottom sliding bar (with "+" "-"): Press "+" to get closer to the ground, and "-" to "fly" up higher.
You also should see your cursor change to a "hand" figure when it isn't over any icon on the screen. You can use the hand by left clicking and "grabbing/dragging" the map and moving yourself around (similar result as the middle circle, but I find the "hand" to be easier for moving longer distances).
Once you understand the controls above, simply move yourself to above Port Orleans French Quarter (you can type in "Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter" in the search tool to get close to the right place), and use the "+" from the "bottom sliding bar" tool. When you get as close to the ground as possible everything will become 3D and you will be looking forward as if you were standing on the ground.
If your computer/connection isn't very fast, you may need to be patient (it can be slow). You may be able to speed up the program by hiding any extra "layers" you might not need -- for example in the bottom left "Layer" section of Google Earth, unclick "Google Earth Community" to hide the camera icons.
Hope you enjoy your "virtual" 3D visit to WDW! ºoº
