Bret, appreciate the follow-up from Carol /OH on my Chip/Dale question. We will be spending most of our time at MK, thus the question for Chef Mickey's. Ft. Wilderness isn't too far away and may be an option...have you/other moms attended the campfire?

    Brian,

Ft. Wilderness' campfire will be much harder to get to than Chef Mickey's for sure, as you will need to take the boat or a bus to get to Ft. Wilderness, and then a separate Ft. Wilderness bus to get to the campfire.  But just in case that doesn't discourage you (and I'd understand if it did), I'll describe the campfire experience a bit...

I went to the campfire with my kids in late 2006.  We had a very memorable time.  In addition to meeting Chip and Dale, we also roasted marshmallows (supplies sold there for a nominal fee) and then they had the kids go up on a little stage to sing campfire and Disney songs to the adults (accompanied by a talented guitar player).  Somehow hearing a chorus of real kids singing "It's a Small World" makes that tune a bit more bearable.

If you are up for it, you can also stick around to watch an outdoor viewing of a Disney movie afterward.  We didn't, since we needed to be well rested for getting to the parks early the next day.

See the Fort Wilderness Recreation page for more detail about this and other activities at Ft. Wilderness.
