Hi! We have breakfast reservations at Hollywood and Vine before the park opens. We're staying at Key West. What is the best way to get there? Will the busses run to get us there that early? Thank so much!!

    Hello Amanda!

Welcome back to planDisney! Early morning Character Dining at Hollywood & Vine is a great way to start a day in the theme parks. Once you arrive at the theme park you’ll need to look for the special entrance for those with Advance Dining Reservations and you’ll be allowed to be one of the first families into the park. If you have a few extra minutes before your breakfast, take a moment and get a family photo in an almost empty park!

When it comes to getting there, it depends on how early your Advance Dining Reservation is. Buses to the theme parks begin running approximately one hour before park opening. If your reservation is only a little before the scheduled opening time, say 15 to 20 minutes before opening, I think you’ll be just fine taking the bus. I would recommend being at the bus stop around an hour to an hour and 10 minutes before park opening. If the first bus does arrive about an hour before park opening, you want to be sure you are on that bus, and with social distancing, there is always the possibility you might not get on the first bus. I am someone who gets very anxious about being late, so I would rather wait at the bus stop an extra 20 minutes than be running behind and worried about missing my reservation!

The other option is to take a taxi, Uber, or Lyft. We are a larger family of 6, so I find taking a taxi to be the easiest. If you head to the taxi pick-up area at Disney's Old Key West Resort Hospitality House, the Cast Members at the Bell Services Desk will happily call a taxi for you, and if your family is larger like mine, they can request a taxi van! If you are anxious about time like I am, or if your reservation is quite early, for example, an hour before park opening, this would be the better choice. We have found the price of the taxi reasonable and worth both the quick and easy transportation and the lack of stress on time anxious me! Mears taxi company has a website where you can price out routes in advance to give you an idea of what to expect.

I hope this helps with your planning, Amanda! And I hope you have an amazing day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
