Welcome Gloria!
Footwear is an important consideration when planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation. After all, you will be spending quite a bit of time on your feet. You'll want shoes that are comfortable and supportive. One of the most popular options among guests are athletic shoes or sneakers. These are definitely comfortable, but in warmer weather I find them too hot. They also are not the best choice in the event of a Florida rain shower. Soggy sneakers are not fun! You'll also see many guests wearing flip-flops. I don't find flip-flops supportive enough for all day walking, and they become slippery in the rain. My go-to park shoes are Keen sandals. I would describe these as a waterproof hiking sandal. They are rather rugged and athletic looking, so perhaps not my most fashionable choice, however I have worn my Keen Whisper or Rose sandals for miles fresh out of the box with no blisters. Keen sandals are available in styles for the whole family, and the best part is, they are machine washable!
Other options for waterproof sandals that are good for walking are Teva or Chaco brands. For cooler dry weather, I have found TOMS to be a bit more stylish while still comfortable for walking. Some of my Moms Panel friends also recommend their go-to park shoes. Jessica swears by Skechers GOwalk shoes; so much so everyone in her household wears them. Rayna loves her Crocs, especially the Kadee and Eve styles. Julie recommends Havaianas (and mentions there is a
Havaianas store in Disney Springs.) Fellow panelists
Wilma and
Tania have also both offered their footwear preferences.
I hope that helps! Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
