Ahoy Janelle!
You are just days away from your high seas adventure! How excited are you and your boys to be getting ready to sail with Captain Mickey? It is time for your Disney cruise!
If your pirates are anything like mine, they will want to spend every possible minute in the
onboard youth clubs. The
Oceaneer Club and
Oceaneer Lab are designed for swashbuckling sailors between 3 and 12 years old. In these spaces, your 10 year old can perform crazy experiments during Super Sloppy Science or burn some energy on the Magic PlayFloor. Your 13 year old pirate will be able to spend his time onboard in the tween club,
Edge. With a little more freedom, tweens can join their friends in the club for structured activities or relax and do their own thing in this space.
The onboard youth clubs are age specific. I was nervous how my own two pirates would do in separate clubs when my oldest wanted to try Edge without my daughter able to join him, but it turned out great! Both kids were able to meet new friends from around the world that they may have shied away from if they had each other. They spent time together during the deck parties, at the pool and of course, for ice cream, in between all the fun activities in the clubs.
Watch for activities planned during your sailing for both kids and tweens in your
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App. My son never misses Heroes and Villains in Edge, so I would highly recommend steering your oldest toward that adventure!
Enjoy every magical moment of your vacation together, Janelle! If you have questions about this cruise or any future sailings, be sure to visit us again at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
Bon voyage! Angie
