Hi. My boyfriend and I were set to visit Disney from Dec. 12 - 20, 2014. Plans have changed due to work, and we have to move our dates. We are thinking January, but we'd like to balance crowds and weather. When is the best time with this in mind? Thanks!

    Hi Gregory!

Thank you for bringing your question to the Moms Panel. I am sorry to hear you had to change your original travel plans. However, I will let you in on a little secret…. January is one of my favorite times to visit Walt Disney World Resort. The crowds are very light and the weather is fair.

The average high during that time of year is 71°F with the average low being 50°F. One January when my wife and I visited Walt Disney World without our children, we ended up visiting all four theme parks in one day—simply because we could. We rode our favorite attractions and had the best time navigating the parks without heavy crowds or searing heat. Depending on when you are able to go in January, you may also be able to enjoy some of the exquisite holiday decorations.

I hope you and boyfriend have a wonderful time together! Please let me know if I can help answer any other questions as you plan your visit to Walt Disney World Resort.

    Have a magical day!
