Hello there, Mike!
Welcome to planDisney and thanks for coming to us with your question! As a tech geek, I'm always happy to help Guests navigate the ins and outs of a Disneyland Resort vacation with regards to technology!
If you're a Walt Disney World veteran, you'll find that their technology offerings are a bit more fully featured. Our version of the
Disneyland Mobile App is very capable and is nevertheless an invaluable aid during your vacation, but it doesn't offer as many bells and whistles as My Disney Experience.
You've taken the first step and already linked your tickets to your MyDisney account. Did you also link your wife's ticket as well? If you want her to be able to manage reservations and
Lightning Lanes, she should link all the tickets onto her account, too. Our version of the App doesn't have a Family & Friends List, so you won't see that functionality at the Disneyland Resort. The closest approximation would be linking all the tickets from your party together onto one account.
With all tickets linked to your respective accounts, both you and your wife will be able to manage reservations and book Lightning Lanes during your visit. Either one of you may book
dining reservations once you are within your 60 day window (you don't need an attached reservation to do so; you only need a credit card to hold the reservation). The same goes for Enchanting Extras. At this time, there is no way to share those types of reservations so they are visible to other linked accounts. Only the Guest who booked them will see them on their App. Sometimes, it's handy to keep a separate shared Note between the two of you as you update your plans so you can see everything in one place.
Mike, I hope that this information was helpful and best of luck as you plan your Disneyland Resort vacation! We'll always be here, so please use us as a resource if you have more questions! We'd love to hear from you again. Until next time!
Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!
