Hi Gustavo! Welcome to planDisney. I’m glad you reached out with this question, because it’s always a smart move to double-check everything ahead of time (especially when you’re planning a special trip with someone you care about!)
The good news is that, in most cases, there’s no need to worry about changing the name on a theme park ticket before you arrive. While a name is associated with a ticket at the time of purchase, the ticket does not officially become linked to a specific Guest until it is scanned at the entrance to
Disneyland or
Disney California Adventure. When that first scan happens, a Cast Member will take a quick photo of the person using the ticket. That photo becomes the primary identifier for the duration of the visit, not the name listed on the ticket. Because of this process, tickets generally work perfectly even if the listed name does not match the Guest who ultimately uses them.
That said, if updating the name would give you extra peace of mind, you do have options. The Guest who originally purchased the tickets (in this case, you) can contact Disneyland Ticket Services for assistance. This can be done by calling the
Tickets phone line or by using the chat feature within the
Disneyland app to connect with a Cast Member. They’ll be able to review your purchase and let you know whether a name change can be made prior to your visit.
Speaking of the Disneyland app, I highly recommend downloading it if you haven’t already. In addition to storing your tickets digitally, the app is an incredibly helpful tool once you arrive. You can check attraction wait times, explore entertainment schedules, place mobile food orders, and manage other details throughout the day, all from your phone. Having everything in one place makes navigating the parks feel much easier and lets you focus on enjoying the experience together.
I hope this helps put your mind at ease, Gustavo, so you can focus on the fun ahead. If any other questions come up as your trip approaches, we’re always happy to help here at planDisney.
Enjoy your upcoming visit!
David
