Gavin from UT Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I bought tickets for my family to visit Disneyland about a week ago. Since that time Disney has announced a large price reduction for all children's tickets. Is there anything I can do to get the lower price now or am I out of luck?

Hello there, Gavin, and welcome to planDisney!

I'm glad that you decided to stop by with your question. How wonderful that you've got a trip to the Disneyland Resort planned for early next year with some young Mouseketeers! As Walt Disney once said, he wanted Disneyland Park to be a place where parents and children could have fun together. I love how the Imagineers have continued that legacy and ideal to expand to what the Disneyland Resort has become today, and I hope you have a magical and memorable visit!

I'm sorry to hear that you missed the Kids' Special Ticket Offer. These special discounts are always a welcome surprise, but we never know when Disney will publish them. I'm afraid that, according to the Ticket Terms and Conditions, Disneyland Resort Theme Park Tickets are nonrefundable once purchased. So this policy means that Cast Members would not be allowed to exchange those tickets for the lower priced offer. However, you are allowed to apply the cost of wholly unused and expired tickets towards the purchase of new tickets that are of equal or higher value. So one option would be to hold onto those full priced tickets for use at another time and purchase a new set of discounted children's tickets for your upcoming visit. The original tickets will always retain their value and have a very long shelf life. Even if they do expire, you can always apply that cost towards a new set of tickets.

Around the time of your visit, Disneyland Park might be hosting a Disneyland After Dark: Sweethearts Nite after hours event. It's an incredibly popular event that celebrates all things romantic during the month of February in a family friendly environment. It might make a nice addition to your trip! Be on the lookout for an announcement about ticket sales around mid-December if it is held again.

Gavin, I'm sorry that this wasn't the magical answer for which you were hoping. I still wish you the best as you continue to plan your trip to the Happiest Place on Earth and please let us know if there is anything else you need. You're always welcome at planDisney! Until next time!

Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!

Meet the Panelist: Al, California

Ahoy there from the heart of Steinbeck Country in central California! I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort since childhood and fell in love with the sense of absolute immersion that the Imagineers have achieved. My favorite attraction is Pirates of the Caribbean because where else can you go from a California day to an evening boat ride in the bayou with "salty old pirates"? I'm a veterinarian and an all-around Disney geek and enthusiast. I'd love to help you plan your next Disneyland trip! Learn More About Al
