Hi Stella! Welcome to planDisney. I’m happy to help you get ready for your next visit to the Disneyland Resort!
If you purchased a standard
Disneyland Resort theme park ticket, you typically don’t need to worry about changing the name before your visit. A ticket officially becomes linked to a Guest once it’s scanned at the entrance to Disneyland or Disney California Adventure. At that first entry, a quick photo is taken, and that image, rather than the printed name, ties the ticket to that specific Guest for the remainder of the trip.
So even if the name on your ticket doesn’t perfectly match the person using it, the ticket will still work as soon as it’s scanned at the gate. Just keep in mind that tickets can only be transferred or have names changed before they’re used for park entry. Once a ticket has been activated at either park, it becomes non-transferable since it’s now linked to the Guest in the photo.
That said, I completely understand wanting everything to look neat and correct. If you’d like to request a name update, the Guest who originally purchased the tickets can reach out to
Disneyland Ticket Services. You can contact them by phone or by using the convenient chat feature in the
Disneyland app. A friendly Cast Member can review your request and assist if a name change is possible.
Speaking of the app, I highly recommend having it handy during your visit. It keeps your tickets right at your fingertips and offers helpful tools like real-time attraction wait times, mobile food and beverage ordering, Lightning Lane Multi Pass selections, and entertainment schedules. You can even tap the “Entertainment” tab to check showtimes for the Paint the Night Parade or World of Color Happiness! during your stay.
I hope this helps you feel confident about your tickets and even more excited for your upcoming Disneyland adventure, Stella. If you’d like more planning tips or park-day suggestions, we’d be delighted to welcome you back to planDisney anytime.
Have an incredible day filled with magical moments!
David
