I bought a ticket for Sweethearts Nite on Jan 22, 2026 but I was confused on the reservations, would I need to make one for the special event or does the ticket suffice?

Hi Daisy! Thank you so much for stopping by planDisney with this sweetheart of a question. My heart is already fluttering knowing you will be attending Sweethearts’ Nite at Disneyland Resort.

January 22, 2026 is the very first Sweethearts’ Nite of the season, which makes it extra special. There is something so fun about experiencing everything fresh and new, from the themed décor to the party-exclusive entertainment. One of my favorite parts of After Dark events is seeing the characters dressed for the occasion, and I cannot wait to see what romantic looks appear for 2026. Daisy Duck is a confirmed character for the event, so be sure to snap a few love-filled photos if you spot her.

Now, to answer your question. Your Sweethearts’ Nite ticket is all you need to attend the event. You do not need to make a separate park reservation for the party itself. If you would like to visit Disneyland Park earlier in the day before the party entry begins 3 hours before the official 9 p.m. start (meaning you can enter at 6 p.m.), that is when a regular theme park ticket or Magic Key reservation would be required. Otherwise, you can simply arrive for party entry and let the romance begin.

If you have not already peeked at the event offerings, you are in for such a treat. After Dark events are some of my absolute favorite ways to experience Disneyland. The lower crowd levels make everything feel more relaxed and intimate, and it is the perfect setting for lingering strolls down Main Street, U.S.A. or taking photos in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle without the usual hustle. I also love sampling the party-only food and beverages. These limited-time treats are often themed just for the event and feel like little surprises around every corner.

Entertainment is another highlight. The new musical Once Upon a Dream sounds like a beautiful celebration of love, and it is tailor-made for Sweethearts’ Nite. If you are anything like me and love a chance to sing along, Disney Duets at the Golden Horseshoe sounds like such a fun experience. Karaoke with your favorite person while surrounded by fellow Disney fans is one of those memories that sticks with you long after the night ends.

Daisy, a huge perk of Sweethearts’ Nite is access to Disney PhotoPass downloads included with your event ticket. This means you can stop at all the PhotoPass locations throughout the park and download your photos at no extra cost. After Dark events also feature special themed photo opportunities that you will only find during the party. From romantic backdrops to creative lighting and overlays, these photos make such fun keepsakes. I always recommend taking advantage of the shorter PhotoPass lines during After Dark events. It is one of the easiest ways to capture beautiful, relaxed photos without feeling rushed.

You are truly in for a magical evening, Daisy. If you have more questions as you plan, I am always happy to help sprinkle in a little extra pixie dust. Enjoy every romantic moment of Sweethearts’ Nite.

Here’s to a night made for memories, magic, and just the right amount of Disney romance!
