Hi Shaun! Welcome to planDisney! Both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure have so much to offer, so I completely understand wanting to experience both in one day. The good news? With a little planning (and a whole lot of Disney excitement), you can absolutely make it happen!
Adding the
Park Hopper option to your ticket is an excellent way to ensure you don’t miss out on any of the attractions, entertainment, or dining options across both parks. Thankfully, this is incredibly easy to do! Simply call the
Tickets line and speak with a friendly Cast Member, who will be happy to assist you with upgrading your ticket. As a helpful tip, make sure your payment information is up to date in your MyDisney account, as you’ll need to pay the difference while on the phone. The cost to upgrade from a one-day, one-park ticket to a Park Hopper ticket is currently between $65 and $75 per ticket (with $75 being the current price for the date of your visit), but I recommend checking the
Disneyland Theme Park Tickets page before calling, as prices are subject to change. Once you’ve spoken with the Cast Member, your tickets will automatically be upgraded, and you’ll be all set to park hop your way through the magic!
Here’s another
great tip, courtesy of my fellow panelist, Tiffany: once you’ve added the Park Hopper option to your ticket, you do not need to make a second park reservation. Theme park reservations are only required for the first park you visit each day. After 11 a.m. (hours subject to change), you’ll be free to hop between parks as often as you like, provided they haven’t reached capacity.
Shaun, you’ve picked an incredible time for a Park Hopper ticket because both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure are buzzing with excitement! Over at Disneyland,
Seasons of the Force is returning, bringing limited-time treats, themed merchandise, and thrilling entertainment to the park. A brand-new nighttime spectacular, Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga, debuts March 28, illuminating Batuu with legendary moments from the Skywalker saga—all set to John Williams’ iconic score. And if that weren’t exciting enough, Luke Skywalker himself will be making his first-ever appearance in Galaxy’s Edge!
Meanwhile, over in Disney California Adventure, the
Food & Wine Festival is in full swing! This is a fantastic time to visit, with several food booths serving up delicious bites inspired by the culinary heritage of the Golden State. Plus, one of my all-time favorite attractions, Soarin’ Over California, is making a limited-time return! As a Q-Tip, I highly recommend making this a priority. And while you’re soaring over the Golden State, be sure to keep an eye (and nose!) out for some iconic sights and scents found only in this version of the attraction!
Shaun, if you have any other questions as you plan your upcoming adventure, please stop by planDisney again. We’re always happy to help!
Wishing you an amazing trip filled with magical moments in both parks!
