Hi there, Elizabeth! I am so glad you found planDisney to ask your question.
I know that the new
park pass reservation system can be a little confusing. It was for me, too. The easiest way to explain it is you simply need to make a reservation for the theme park you want to START your day at. You can then plan to enjoy that park, whether it is Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park. And then, when the clock strikes 2pm, the fairy godmother grants you the ability to move to a different park.
By using the
MyDisneyExperience mobile app, you can look to see which parks are allowing park hopping that day by clicking on the three lines in the lower right corner, and then “park hours & info”. Here, each theme park hours will show, and also “park hopper availability” and the time (2:00 pm to close).
It is as simple as that! My friends and I hopped from EPCOT to Disney’s Hollywood Studios using the Skyliner last weekend. We arrived at DHS around 5:30pm and went back to
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. The wait time displayed and on the mobile app was 85 minutes, and we were boarding the attraction in 60 minutes! While in the queue, we played the
Play Disney Parks Star Wars: Datapad game and the time went super quickly.
I hope this helps with planning for your next trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth! Please come back to planDisney if we can assist you with more planning tips!
Happy Traveling (& hopping),
Tracy
