Greetings, Jose, and thank you for stopping by planDisney! And a great big Mickey salute for your family's service. A father/son visit to
Walt Disney World Resort sounds like a fantastic way to make some memories, so let's look at options to use those tickets.
My mother-in-law is eligible for
military Special Offers, so we recently took her to the Shades of Green Resort to pick up some theme park tickets in person. The process was easy, and we had a blast exploring that gorgeous resort. I didn't realize how close it is to Magic Kingdom Park! I'm not sure where you bought your tickets, but I did some research to help you figure out your next steps.
All 2026 military tickets typically have the same springtime blockout dates. With spring break in full swing across the country, it's one of the busiest times of the year at Walt Disney World. Since the staff at Shades of Green was so helpful with my mother-in-law, I
called their help desk for advice on your situation.
The ticket agent said that most military theme park tickets
cannot be modified once they're sold. She suggested contacting the military base where you purchased them to double-check their specific policies, since they can look up the type of tickets you have. If you're already at the parks, you can show your military ID at the Shades of Green entrance to visit their ticket center.
Another option is to call the Disney
Tickets and Hotel Reservations line with your confirmation numbers handy. Cast Members can look up your ticket type and let you know whether you're eligible to upgrade your military tickets to standard admission for your desired dates. In most cases, the cost you've paid for your tickets can be applied to an upgrade; you'll simply pay the difference.
Jose, that fine print trips me up every time, too. I hope you find the answers you're looking for, and I'm wishing on the stars and stripes that you have the best trip ever! Please stop by
planDisney anytime.
Magic awaits,
Elaine
