Magic Key Holder, I know firsthand how important it is to choose the pass that best fits your Disneyland adventures, and I’m happy to help you navigate your upgrade options.
The good news is yes, you can upgrade your
Believe Magic Key to an
Inspire Magic Key, provided the Inspire Key is currently available for purchase. There are a few important details to keep in mind when planning your upgrade. First, your Magic Key must be activated before you can upgrade. Activation happens the first time you use your pass, whether that’s entering
Disneyland Park,
Disney California Adventure Park, or even using your Magic Key to
park at one of the Disneyland Resort parking locations.
Once your pass is activated, you’ll be responsible for paying the difference in price between the Believe Key and the Inspire Key at the time you upgrade. It’s also helpful to know that upgrading your Magic Key does not reset your renewal date. Your renewal window will remain tied to the original renewal date of your Believe Key, even after you move up to the Inspire level.
Now for a little extra pixie dust. At the time I checked the Magic Key purchase page, the Inspire Key was available, which means you have the option to upgrade right now if you’d like. You can complete the upgrade either online through the Disneyland website or directly in the
Disneyland app.
If you choose to upgrade on the website, start by logging in to your
MyDisney account. From there, head to the
Manage My Passes page, select the Magic Key you’d like to upgrade, and follow the on-screen prompts until the process is complete.
Upgrading through the Disneyland app is just as easy. Open the app, navigate to your Magic Key, and look for the “Upgrade Magic Key” button beneath your pass. Tapping it will take you to the Upgrade Magic Key Passes page, where you’ll see all the Magic Keys you manage and can select the one you’d like to upgrade. You can also reach this same page on the Disneyland website by hovering over “Magic Key” in the top navigation and selecting “Upgrade Magic Key Passes.”
