Hello there, Ken, and welcome to planDisney! You're the opposite of Uncle Scrooge McDuck, so I hope your sweet niece appreciates your generosity. Taking her to Walt Disney World Resort is a fantastic way to make memories together, so let's look at how you can put those annual passes to good use.
I chatted with a helpful Cast Member who said your best bet is to call the
Annual Passholders line since they can look up your My Disney Experience account to see exactly what your options are. You can also take care of this in person at
Guest Relations at any theme park, but calling ahead will allow you more time to enjoy the magic once you're here.
Under
current guidelines, guests must activate their passes a year from purchase; passes that are not activated within that timeframe often revert to a placeholder status, hence the 2099 expiration. If this is the case, you should be able to activate your passes, but you will probably need to convert them to their current equivalent passes.
For example, if you'd like to keep the
Disney Pixie Dust Passes, you'll pay the price difference from when you purchased yours a few years ago. Next, you'll make theme park reservations to be good to go! Your year of use for the passes begins upon activation, so you'll have many opportunities to meet Mickey.
Please remember to bring
proof of Florida residency, as all guests over 18 must provide it to activate tickets and other special offers.
The help desk can also reassign the pass for your niece if she wasn't the original guest it was purchased for. Most unused tickets can be reassigned, so I'm wishing on a star that you can show her a magical time at the theme parks this week.
My husband and I have the Pixie Dust Pass and have put it to good use! Did you know V.I.Passholder Days begin on May 1? I can't wait to check out the exclusive
Passholder Lounge at EPCOT, and I heard there might be a new passholder magnet at
Creations Shop. I'm obsessed with those free magnets, Ken. If you see a car covered in them, please wave at me!
Ken, I hope you get some pixie-dusted answers and can use your annual passes with your niece soon. Please stop by
planDisney anytime!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
