We bought DVC Member Gold Pass Exchanges (NOT renewal / Expires: Tue, Dec 31, 2030) prior to the covid 19 pandemic (in anticipation of next trip). They have NOT been activated. Will they remain Gold Passes if activated after September 8?

    Hi Randi!

Welcome Home, and welcome to planDisney! I am also a current Walt Disney World Gold Annual Passholder, and there is a lot to learn and understand about the new Annual Pass offerings.

If you already have Exchange Certificates for Walt Disney World Gold Passes, my understanding is that at this time they will remain as Gold Passes once activated, even after September 8, 2021. The only aspect that will be different is that you will be granted the ability to reserve 5 Park Pass Reservations similar to the new Sorcerer Pass, rather than the 3 reservations that have been allowed for Gold Passholders. Once it is time for the renewal of your Gold Pass, you will be offered the renewal price for one of the new options.

Please keep in mind that at this time, this is the plan with the concept that you will activate that Gold Annual Pass sooner rather than later. If you were to not activate them, and try to hold onto them long term, I cannot promise that they would retain the terms of the Gold Pass in the future. If you’d like more specific details, I’ve always had good luck with contacting the Cast Members at the V.I.Passholder number, and usually, the hold times aren’t lengthy. You can reach them at (407) WDW-PASS.

Enjoy that Gold Annual Pass, Randi! Remember that the Gold Passes still include Memory Maker, so be sure to take advantage and take lots of PhotoPass Photos on your visits! And don’t forget to always ask if there is a Passholder or Disney Vacation Club discount!

    Wishing you Membership Magic!
