If I borrow points from 2024 with a september use year, and cancel before 31 days, when would those points have to be use or lose by ?

Welcome Back to planDisney, Angelene, and Welcome Home!

One of my favorite features of our Disney Vacation Club Membership is flexibility. We can bank or borrow Vacation Points depending on our family needs for that year. Let's take a look at borrowing Points!

We have been Disney Vacation Club Members for a decade and frequently enjoy using our Membership to invite other families to join our Walt Disney World Resort vacations. That usually means borrowing Points so we can spread out in a Two or Three Bedroom Villa. If you borrow Vacation Points from 2024, then they become 2023 Points. So, if you have to cancel the reservation for which you borrowed Points (before the 31-day mark), then those Points will become 2023 Points. Since you have a September Use Year, those Points shouldn't expire until August 31st, 2024. Keep in mind that travel using those Points would need to be completed before their expiration, not just booked. Since I cannot see the exact specifics of your Points, I do recommend giving DVC Member Services a quick call to review your Point usage to make sure. I hope this helps you plan your next DVC adventure.

Thank you for visiting planDisney. We are here for all your Disney Vacation Club questions!

    Enjoy making magical memories!
