If I books a points stay then have to cancel what happens to the points?

Welcome back to planDisney, Nancy, and Welcome Home!

I'm always glad to chat with other Disney Vacation Club Members about their Membership's flexibility. Sometimes the East Australian Current (or, as Crush says, the E.A.C.) takes us in directions we may not want to go, but it is important to just keep swimming! So it's never fun to think about canceling a DVC Resort stay, but let's dive in to look at your options.

If you cancel your reservation 31 days or more before check-in, all Vacation Points will be returned to your account in the current Use Year. Remember, if you borrowed any Vacation Points for that reservation, they would remain in the current Use Year, even if they were originally from the next Use Year. If you need to cancel 30 days to one day before check-in, those Vacation Points will go into a Holding Account in the current Use Year. The Points in the Holding Account can still be used through the end of the current Use Year, but they cannot be banked or borrowed and must be used for reservations at least 60 days before the check-in date. Unfortunately, if the cancellation is made on the check-in date, those Points will be forfeited. I hope this helps you feel confident exploring the big, blue DVC world!

Thank you for visiting planDisney. We are here and reading to answer all your DVC questions.

    Goodbye from your exit buddy!
