Can I book/reserve the savvi workshop lightsaber experience and pay on the day when we are there? Is this the same when booking dining, or do we have to pay for that too when we reserve?

Bright Suns, Traveler! (That’s how you’ll be greeted in Batuu, Chloe.)

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is such an amazing immersive land! I’m sure your Star Wars-loving family will be overwhelmed with all of the super cool details throughout Batuu. And, when you see the Millennium Falcon for the first time, your mind will be blown!

My son is a Star Wars fan, too. He is hoping to experience building his own lightsaber at Savi’s Workshop on our trip in September. As far as a reservation to build your own galaxy defending weapon, this experience requires a valid credit card when booking up to 60 days prior on the MyDisneyExperience app or website. But, it is fully cancellable until 24 hours prior, so should you decide that you don’t need the reservation, no worries! I believe the card isn’t charged until the experience, if that is a concern.

As far as dining reservations, a valid credit card is also required when reserving your time, but nothing will be charged until the day of your restaurant reservation. These are also fully cancellable up to 24 hours prior, otherwise a $10 per person fee will be charged to the credit card provided. You can currently book your dining reservations up to 60 days prior, and will have to go in for each day of your resort reservation to book dining. This is different than in the past.

I hope you have a wonderful visit to the Walt Disney World Resort! Please come back to planDisney with other questions that arise as you are planning!

    Happy Traveling,

GAWRSH! Hiya pals! I am a Goofy-loving mom of 2, who is married to my real-life Prince Charming. My family supports my passion for all things Disney. Walt Disney World was my very first vacation, when I was just 3 months old, and I recently completed my 73rd trip to a Disney location! I have been fortune enough to parasail high above the Disney Fantasy, attend opening day of Batuu, snorkel in the lagoon at Disney's Aulani, and SO MUCH MORE! I can't wait to help you plan your Disney vacation!
