If I am booking a trip with another person, do we both have to get a dining plan if one person wants it?

    Hey there, Kaylen!

Welcome to planDisney. I'm happy to answer all your questions as you navigate the early stages of your vacation planning.

Dining plans returned earlier this year, sparking excitement among guests eager to indulge in delectable Mickey-shaped snacks while streamlining their food budgets. You'll have a choice between the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan which includes 2 Quick-Service Meals and 1 Snack per night of stay, in addition to a Resort-Refillable Mug OR the Disney Dining Plan which offers guests 1 Quick-Service Meal, 1 Table-Service Meal, and 1 Snack per night of stay, plus a Resort-Refillable Mug. Both of these plans can be added to a room and ticket Vacation Package, but the plans will apply to all guests on the reservation. If you'll be sharing a room with your travel partner you'd both need to add the same dining plan option.

I have yet to utilize a dining plan myself, but I did some price calculations on my last visit. We spent a lot of time snacking our way around World Showcase during the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, and though many of the items we ordered were eligible as Snacks on either plan, we would have quickly used up all of our Snack entitlements within the first few hours. I knew this would likely be our eating game plan so we decided to skip adding a dining plan to this trip. We did enjoy 2 Table-Service Meals during our visit and had we reserved one for each day, I definitely would have come out ahead had I opted for the Disney Dining Plan.

You know your vacation and eating style best so consider whether you want to have a Snack-heavy trip or if you'll be happier with Quick-Service and Table-Service Meals. If you'll be opting for larger portions instead of multiple small bites throughout the day I think you'll enjoy either of the dining plans available. You can also utilize Mobile Ordering at many eligible Quick-Service locations which will save you time as you enjoy your magical day.

Kaylen, I hope this was helpful. Please come back and see us again with any additional questions.

    Magic and memories,
    Amy
