Hi, Michelle!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and congratulations on booking a stay at
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa! You're going to love the beautiful Victorian-inspired architecture and the wonderful amenities available at the Grand Floridian, not to mention the fabulous Signature and Character dining experiences located just steps away from your resort room!
The outer building closest in proximity to the Beach Pool and white-sand beach is
Big Pine Key. The Beach Pool features a 181-foot-long water slide and nearby there is a whimsical kids' splash area themed to
Alice in Wonderland. If instead you'd like to be close to the Courtyard Pool, then
Boca Chica or
Big Pine Key would be the best choices. The Courtyard Pool is very expansive and tranquil, but it does not feature a water slide.
Conch Key is closest to the dock where you can catch boat transportation to the Magic Kingdom. Having stayed in a Theme Park View room in Conch Key, I just want to let you know that you will hear the horn from the resort launch (boat) each time it arrives and departs from the dock. The noise can be bothersome, but if you don't have light sleepers in your family or don't mind waking up early, then staying in Conch Key should be fine (especially if your room is nearer to the Sugar Loaf Key side rather than to the opposite end facing the water and the dock).
Disney's Room Assignors do their best to accommodate requests for specific resort buildings, but requests of this nature are subject to availability and therefore cannot be guaranteed. No matter where your room is located, I'm sure you'll have a very magical stay at the lovely Grand Floridian!
