When booking a return flight after a cruise out of Port Canaveral how much time do we need to allow for the transfer back to the airport using the Disney shuttle bus?

Welcome aboard, Scott! I'm happy to hear you are planning to book ground transfers through Disney Cruise Line to take your family back to the Orlando International Airport after your Disney Cruise from Port Canaveral! My family and I always let Disney do the driving, because it makes our transitions from land to sea and back again so seamless and stress-free! You will surely enjoy the ease of debarking the ship and walking right onto the motor coach for a relaxing ride the the airport.

Thanks for asking about timing of your return flight, because that is very important! Disney Cruise Line suggests that guests book return flights anytime from 11:30 a.m. or after when using Disney's transfers to the airport. This will allow plenty of time to enjoy the morning breakfast onboard, debark the ship, and make your way through customs before boarding the motor coach for the return trip to the airport. Since the motor coaches run on a continuous basis throughout the morning, you won't have to wait long after boarding to depart for the airport.

With the ground transfers, you'll also be able to take advantage of Disney Cruise Line's Onboard Airline Check-In, which allows you to check in for your flight onboard and send your luggage straight from the ship. You then don't need to handle your luggage again until you pick it up at baggage claim at your home airport. It is so convenient!

I hope those details help you book your flights, Scott. Be sure to call the agents at Disney Cruise Line at (800) 951-3532 to ensure you've got the Disney ground transfers booked as well, and you'll be all ready to set sail! Please feel free to stop back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with any other questions before you set sail! We're always happy to help!
