Welcome back, Mona! We sailed on the Disney Wonder over that same week this past November and it was such a memorable cruise! You're in for so much fun when you head out to sea this fall!
You will absolutely not be disappointed with the Disney Wonder! My family first sailed with Disney on the Dream when it first launched in 2011. After that, we booked a sailing on the Wonder and were a bit nervous that we might not enjoy it as much as the brand new Dream. We were so thrilled that we had just as much, if not more fun, onboard the Wonder! There are many of the same activities and events offered on the Wonder as the other ships, and some special things as well. Though it might not have some of the brand new technology like the shows in Animator's Palate or the Midship Detective Agency, I promise you won't miss a thing once you set foot on the ship and immerse yourself in the amazing service and exciting events. In fact, it's one of my favorite ships in the Disney fleet!
Be sure to let Disney Cruise Line's agents (or your travel agent) know that you'll be celebrating your daughter's birthday onboard. They can make a note on your reservation about that so that your servers will make a big deal out of her birthday one night at dinner. They will probably present her with a special dessert. In addition, you can pre-order a custom cake to be served at dinner or in your stateroom. Also, there are room decorations that can be pre-ordered as well for that extra special touch. Check out the
Gifts and Amenities page of Disney Cruise Line's website for the details on these extras.
Be sure she stops by Guest Services to pick up a birthday button to wear that day. I know, sometimes a 16 year old isn't excited about wearing a button out in public, but believe me when I say that the Cast Members go out of their way to make those wearing birthday buttons feel very special! Have fun planning!
