Hi Josh, and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney. I’m so excited that you’ll be at the Most Magical Place on Earth in just a few days!
My friends and I did just what you’re describing when we were in
Magic Kingdom last week. Our first
Lightning Lane selection was for
Space Mountain and I’m not a roller coaster person. I ended up walking through the queue and tapping my
MagicBand at two different scanners. After the second one, a Cast Member directed me to the exit without going on the ride. I’d recommend letting a Cast Member at the Lightning Lane entrance know what your group is looking to do. Sometimes it’s as easy as scanning once at the Lightning Lane entrance and leaving, but some rides have two tap points before you can make your next Lightning Lane selection. Cast Members will be happy to let you know the easiest way to fully scan in.
Here's a quick tip to help you maximize the magic while using
Lightning Lane Multi Pass. As the day goes on, you might find that Lightning Lane is no longer available for certain attractions or only for times later in the evening. But I had good luck last week refreshing and sometimes a Lightning Lane selection would pop up that wasn’t previously available. To do this, open the
My Disney Experience app, go to ☰ in the lower right corner, and select Today’s Plans under My Visit. From here, go to the Tip Board and drag the screen down with your finger to refresh the screen. I’ll usually do this while I’m waiting in a queue to see what we might be able to snag!
Also, don’t miss the digital downloads of
select attraction photos and videos you get with Lightning Lane Multi Pass. It’s a great way to remember your visit with friends and family! I love those action shots more than the posed pictures my friends and I took in front of Cinderella Castle.
I hope you have a magical visit to Disney World next week! And if you have any other questions before then, we’d love to have you back at planDisney.
