Hi again, Amanda! It's a great idea to book your next
cruise with Disney onboard the ships because Disney offers the best discounts and perks to those who book onboard! My family and I never leave the ship without booking our next cruise, or at least a placeholder sailing until we can choose the exact itinerary we'd like next!
When we've booked onboard at the
Future Cruise desk, we have been able to choose a specific stateroom from those available when we know the exact itinerary and sail date we are booking, yes. However, when we book a placeholder cruise, it's even easier. We put down the deposit onboard. Once home, I receive an email with my booking details, and then I just spend some time deciding which ship, date, and itinerary will make the most magical next adventure for my family. I have always then called Disney Cruise Line's agents, or my travel agent, if I've attached her name to my initial booking, and they've walked us through it from there. The agents can give you the price of the sailing you're interested in booking, along with the discount you've been offered onboard, the onboard credit, and inform you of any remaining deposit that will need to be made, all based on the placeholder cruise you have booked. It's super easy. You will need to sail within 24 months to keep all of those awesome benefits you receive from onboard booking.
If you have a favorite travel agent, but forget to add her to your booking as your agent when you're onboard, be sure to do so within 30 days of returning home, otherwise it may be too late to add her as your agent. However, if you don't work with an outside travel agent, the friendly agents with Disney Cruise Line at (800) 951-3532 can make all the arrangements you need!
Happy planning, Amanda!
