Welcome to planDisney, Kirsten, and thanks for this great question. I have a
Disneyland Resort visit planned in December, and I'm already starting to pack my Mickey Christmas sweaters! Let's look at how your
Magic Key passes will impact your husband's vacation package booking so you can all enjoy the holidays together!
I spoke to a jolly Cast Member who suggested you call
Hotel Reservations with your package confirmation number and have them add a note to your reservation indicating that you and your daughter will join your husband at check-in. You can't be added to the reservation without purchasing theme park tickets, so this will be your best option.
With only your husband on the reservation, the risk is that he will be assigned a room with only one king bed, but the note will alert the staff that you prefer two beds. There's no guarantee which room configuration you'll get, especially during the busy holiday season, but calling ahead will ensure your best chance.
Remember, at check-in, there may be an additional charge for you and your daughter, depending on her age and the specific hotel. You can take care of any price difference at that time. Also, just so you know, any insurance your husband might add to his package will only cover his trip.
I hope you check out the
Festive Foods Marketplace at
Disney California Adventure Park during your visit. I can't wait to try the Sip and Savor Pass! As key holders, you and your daughter could be eligible for a discount and an exclusive lanyard. What a happy holiday you'll have!
Kirsten, I hope I've helped you prepare for your holiday visit. Please
stop by planDisney anytime. I'll keep the hot chocolate warm!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
