Hello, Denise! You must be so excited about your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World Resort this holiday season!
Disney's Yacht Club Resort is located on the shores of Cresent Lake, and its design was inspired by the summertime seashore resorts of the late 1880s such as Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket Island. One of the outstanding features of this resort is Stormalong Bay, which includes a lazy river in its sand bottom pool. It is also conveniently located within walking distance to
Epcot and a short boat ride to
Disney's Hollywood Studios. By the time of your trip, the
Disney Skyliner Transporation System will also be up and running!
In 2017, Disney's Yacht Club Resort underwent a refurbishment, and the new rooms have an elegant, calming atmosphere with wood laminate flooring, lots of closet space, Keurig coffee makers, and a subtle nautical theme. The rooms are well insulated, so noise shouldn't be an issue. Being on the lake, you may hear horns from the boats from time to time, but I think you'll agree that the view makes it worth it, especially if you can get a room on the third or fourth floor (some of these rooms have fireworks views). You are now able to make room requests through your
My Disney Experience account through
Online Check-In. My suggestion, however, would be to peruse the subscription-based website, touringplans.com, because they have a fabulous "Room Finder" tool that I use for each of my trips. There are uploaded photos of the views from each room, and you can set filters to fit your exact parameters. The best part is that when you find the room you like, they will send a room request to your Walt Disney World Resort via fax a few days before you arrive. Room requests are never guaranteed, but these steps have helped me get rooms with premium views.
I hope this helps, Denise! Make sure to stop by the Disney Parks Moms Panel again if you need any advice about all the
magical things to do and see during the holidays!
