I am booked for the wanyama safari and the illuminations sparkling dessert party on the same night. Will I have enough time after the safari to make it to epcot for the dessert party? What time should the safari and dinner end?

    Hi Julie!

Congratulations on your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World! You will love the Wanyama Safari! This experience is a special 90-minute tour through the safari to see exotic animals, enjoy a pre-safari reception and dinner at Jiko - The Cooking Place. You will want to check in for the Wanyama Safari at 3:20 p.m. The pre-safari reception is from 3:30-4:00 and the safari departs at 4:00. You will get back to the Animal Kingdom Lodge around 5:30 p.m. and then you can enjoy dinner. Dinner typically takes between 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Therefore, you would be done with dinner by 6:30-7:00.

The Illuminations Sparkling Dessert Party starts at 8:00 p.m. You can enjoy desserts from around the world, such as cannoli from Italy, ganache tarts from France and Irish Cream pudding from the United Kingdom.

You can take a bus directly from Animal Kingdom Lodge, where the safari departs and concludes to Epcot. You would be cutting it close with only an hour to get from Animal Kingdom Lodge to Epcot, and you will be served dessert at the dinner, so you may not be hungry to enjoy the desserts at the Illuminations Dessert Party.

The bottom line is that yes, you could definitely make it happen, but you may be a bit rushed (and not hungry).

    Magically,
    Stacy
