Hello, Booked a VIP tour and watched several videos that mention tipping. But they also mentioned a "runner" that will take things to lockers, etc. for us. Is that a second person on the tour that we should plan on tipping as well?

Welcome back to planDisney, Marilyn! Your trip to the Disneyland Resort is rapidly approaching, and I’m happy to help you get those final details in order. I have to say, a guided tour is a fantastic way to maximize your time in the parks and add a bit of extra pixie dust to your visit!

Marilyn, a VIP Tour Guide is a truly magical way to experience both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. As you may know, each guide acts as a friendly Disney expert and “personal concierge,” ensuring your visit is full of the signature hospitality Disney is known for. With a VIP Tour, you’ll enjoy a personalized itinerary, tailored to your group’s favorite attractions and entertainment. I spoke with Shannon, a helpful VIP Tour Cast Member, who shared that the runner service is included exclusively with the “Land of Dreams” Tour. For the standard VIP Tour, your guide will assist with essentials like locker use and water retrieval throughout the day.

My fellow panelist Carrie experienced a VIP Tour and shared that the insider stories and hidden Easter Eggs their guide revealed were some of the highlights of her trip. A few other helpful reminders as you prepare: Park admission, including Park Hopper tickets, is not included in the VIP Tour price. However, once your tour is confirmed, park reservations for your party will be handled for you. And since the day will include quite a bit of walking (just like a regular park day), be sure everyone in your group wears comfortable shoes. Complimentary strollers and wheelchairs may be available if needed. Just check with your guide at the start of your tour.

You’ll also love the reserved seating for parades and nighttime spectaculars. During Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary Celebration, there are some especially magical options to enjoy. The “Wondrous Journeys” fireworks show celebrates 100 years of Disney Animation with a dazzling mix of heart and spectacle. It’s one of those shows that’ll have you both cheering and misty-eyed. And I’m thrilled that the “Paint the Night” parade has returned to Disneyland! I had the chance to attend its reopening night on May 16, and I can still hear the crowd singing “When Can We Do This Again?” as the glowing floats danced down the parade route. It was an unforgettable moment shared with my family, and I hope it becomes one for yours, too.

If you have any additional questions about your VIP Tour or need more help fine-tuning your Disney Day, please come back and see us at planDisney. We’d be delighted to help.

    Happy adventuring,
    David
