I booked a VIP Thrills tour over the phone and was given a reservation number, but there doesn't appear to be a way to link the reservation number to MDE account. So if I have to cancel, I guess I have to call (can't cancel through MDE)

Hi, Beth! At this time, Walt Disney World Resort tours do not automatically pop up in My Disney Experience like Advance Dining Reservations do. You are correct; you will need to cancel by calling Walt Disney World Resort Tours and Recreation at least 48 hours in advance of your tour to avoid a full payment fee.

To keep track of your tour confirmation, I have a little tip for you. A few years ago, I booked Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour at Magic Kingdom Park and misplaced my confirmation number. When I called Guest Services to get the number, the Cast Member I spoke with told me about the Notes section of My Disney Experience. This is a great spot to add reminders to your daily itinerary. It worked out to be the perfect place to add my tour confirmation number. There is not a way to add a note in the mobile app version of My Disney Experience at this time, so you will need to do this on the full website. However, once you add the note, it will pop up in your mobile app.

When you go into the My Itinerary section of My Disney Experience, first change the date at the top to show the date of your Ultimate Day of Thrills VIP Tour. Then, click on Add Plans at the top left, and choose to Add a Note. This will open a note where you can add the time and location of your event, label your event, and add your confirmation number to an optional Details box. When you complete this, your note will show up in your day’s itinerary.

I hope this tip helps you with your trip planning, Beth. Please let us know if you have any other questions as you continue to plan your trip.
