We just booked our vacation for the first week in January 2010. We will be traveling with a 2 1/2 year old and a 5 year old. We plan on staying within the resort for our entire 7 day stay. Do you see any reason why we would need to rent a car?

Honesty Daniela I can not!  As long as you are staying on property, you will be able to get most anywhere you can think of via Disney transportation!  The Disney transportation system is great from the buses to the riverboats, it is all so accessible.  I say start the New Year off right and save yourself the extra cost of a rental car.  Each year we drive to Disney.  We park our car in the resort parking lot and we do not see it again until the day we go home!  I hope you have a magical vacation and 2010 will be here before you know it.
